The AFCO Extended-Travel Drag Strut for 1979–2004 Mustangs adds 2 inches of additional front suspension travel to help your car transfer weight smoothly and plant the tire. It’s a proven upgrade for drag radial, small-tire, and no-prep setups that need more control at the hit and better consistency pass-to-pass.

More usable travel gives your Mustang’s front end more time to rise smoothly, keeping weight moving rearward longer. The result is better tire loading on the hit, a more forgiving setup window, and improved consistency—especially on drag radials and marginal prep.
This extended-travel drag strut is designed to improve weight transfer by adding 2 inches of additional front suspension travel compared to standard drag struts. It helps your car rise smoother, hit the tire more progressively, and stay more consistent on radial, slick, and no-prep surfaces.

Standard struts can run out of travel too quickly, stopping weight transfer early and making the hit too aggressive. The extra 2” helps:
